Mishal Kanoo Signs DP World Supply Deal

Dubai, UAE: Kanoo Machinery, a member of The Kanoo Group secured an exclusive long-term supply deal with DP World to further strengthen business optimism and the growing alliance between two of the region’s leading companies. 

Mr. Nabil Qayed (Technical Director), Mr. Jamal Ahmed Al Kindi (Manager-Materials Management) and other procurement officials from DP World attended the signing ceremony, with the presence of senior management members of The Kanoo Group and Kanoo Machinery.

In an opening speech, Mr. Mishal Kanoo said that The Kanoo Group is privileged and honoured to be associated with DP World. He is optimistic that the partnership can help make DP World become more successful and that The Kanoo Group will be proud to be a part of it.

Mr. Esam Khoori also commented that the strategic partnership is a great advantage with mutual benefits which can bring right results, with the right people.

DP World does not have to keep an inventory of spare parts for machines as this is done in Kanoo Machinery premises, and the required parts will be available 24/7. Therefore  efficiency and delivery time are greatly reduced, thus giving immense benefits to both parties.”

The Kanoo Group holds 14th Blood Donation Drive

The blood donation campaign is part of The Kanoo Group's continuous efforts to step-forward for a noble cause and to highlight the principles of corporate social responsibility

Dubai, UAE – April 09, 2013 - The Kanoo Group, in cooperation with Blood Donation Center-Latifa Hospital, yesterday marked the successful conclusion of the blood donation drive held at The Kanoo Group Main Office - HAK Training Hall, Bur Dubai.

Management staff from all divisions and branches across UAE, along with friends and families lined up to support the initiative which was conducted between 9.00 am to 1.30 pm by specialized medical team from Latifa Hospital and organized by The Kanoo Group Marketing Department.

Ali Islim, Marketing Manager on behalf of The Kanoo Group said: "It is an excellent opportunity to be a part of this humanitarian programme which reflects the shared beliefs and values of The Kanoo Group throughout the years on the importance of donation and community service. On behalf of the marketing team I would like to commend all the efforts for the collaboration and remarkable response of the 14th Blood Donation Campaign."

The Kanoo Group has been successfully conducting this campaign since 2003 and continuously promotes and encourages employees to partake in such priceless commitment to save lives as an integral part of the society.

The entire blood donation process was simple which took only 15 minutes on the average, for each patient, and received an overall positive feedback on safety and handling.

The volunteers were presented with tailor-made tokens from The Kanoo Group for their wholehearted efforts that underline the importance of restoring health and lives of people among others from around the world who earnestly seek help every second in the hope to reverse the course of their fate forever.

Kanoo Travel shares best practices in the 7th cycle - MRM Business Award 2013

The workshops are comprehensive qualification programs to assist businesses to adopt Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Performance Model (MRM)

Dubai, UAE: Kanoo Travel, being a proud winner of the 6th cycle of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Excellence Award shared insights on the topic “Achieving Customer-driven Innovation”, in a series of Best-Practices Seminars hosted by Dubai Chamber held in its Dubai head office on 27th February 2013.

On behalf of Kanoo Travel, Nayeem Syed (Network Manager - Business Development) discussed the topic to a group of senior representatives from various corporate industries, followed by a panel discussion represented by him and Aubrey Heldt (Regional Operations Manager).

The Best Practices Seminar is an opportunity for previous winners as business models to share their ideas, standards and experiences towards pursuance of excellence in applying for the Business Award under the framework of the Program. It also aims to highlight the importance of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Club which encourages interaction, learning and cooperation among its members while developing business competitiveness, adopting global best practices and elevating their business reputations worldwide.

Held annually under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the MRM Business Award is the region’s most prestigious business award initiated by Dubai Chamber to support and reward the efforts of UAE-based businesses contributing to the economic development of the country.

Aubrey Heldt and Nayeem Syed, together with Prashant Nassery (Projects & Quality Manager) and Rayner Mathias (Quality Coordinator) from Kanoo Travel collectively worked as a team in this project to showcase the best practices and latest innovations.

Over the years, this seminar has always been supported by Kanoo Travel. The various topics shared by speakers have helped many companies meet international standards and have aligned them in their management techniques. This initiative has further strengthened the Kanoo Travel’s partnership with all its stakeholders throughout the region.

The Kanoo Group on Golf Tournament: It’s for charity

The annual McDermott Charity Golf Classic tournament raises fund to support local charities 

Dubai, UAE – March 25, 2013: The Kanoo Group supported a major charitable initiative as a Platinum Sponsor in the 21st McDermott Charity Golf Classic held on March 14, 2013 at The Els Club, Dubai Sports City. The organizers recognized the need for sports more than ever, combined with philanthropic focus which drew corporate clients for a challenging tournament.

Since its inception in 1992, this annual golf tournament has grown significantly and has received great sponsorship support from various local and international clients. Its goal is to raise funds for local charity institutions mainly the Dubai Center for Special Needs (DCSN).

The Dubai Center for Special Needs is a non-profit organization that provides the highest standards of service in specialized education and therapy for children with various disabilities. It is a caring environment, largely dependent on the generosity of the local communities and corporations.  Its aim is to provide each and every one of its students the key to a positive life, thereby "Lighting the path to a brighter future".

In the early eighties, the idea of establishing a Center to serve the needs of individuals with special needs took form. With an aim to raise funds, DCSN faces each day with a hope that more members of the community will step forward to offer their support.

McDermott Charity Golf Classic hosted a ‘Shrimp Boil’ in Dubai Offshore Sailing Club as an opening for the Charity Auction. It was followed by the golf tournament back at The Els Club. Teams were selected from various entries with the aim to balance the handicaps of all teams during the process.

The event ended with Awards Dinner wherein three team winners were presented with engraved trophies for First, Second, Third Place respectively; while prizes were also given for the ‘Golf Competition Hole Prizes’ for excellent performers in the 18 holes.

Mr. Bob Curtis, CEO - UAE & Oman graced the event on behalf of The Kanoo Group as a major sponsor.

Kanoo-American Express Annual Network Forum Held

The Annual Kanoo-American Express Travel Network Forum gathers top travel industry players in the Middle East

Middle East, March 31, 2013: Kanoo Travel, the largest travel company in the Middle East conducted the Annual Kanoo-American Express Travel Network Forum held recently at InterContinental Hotel, Amman, Jordan. Senior representatives from American Express Travel Partner Network, USA and UK, together with partners from 14 different regional markets including Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Yemen, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan and UAE, to name a few, attended the event. This year’s forum was sponsored by Sabre Travel Network and Co-sponsored by American Express Cards Middle East.

Several topics related to the travel management industry including new technologies, pricing strategies and announcement of several developments that drive value to customer’s travel management programs were highlighted as enhancements to AMEX Travel customer’s and partner’s overall experiences. Latest plans in terms of investments in new training resources, quality tools and corporate payment solution were also announced.  

The Forum members also welcomed two new agents from Afghanistan and Tunisia to the AMEX Travel Network, and shared success stories and various other business related matters with partners.
